A few years ago a good friend was bereaved in traumatic circumstances, and her life since has caused depression and too many tears.
Whenever I met her, so many times, walking alone in Aberystwyth, she would say in Welsh “thank you for talking to me, listening, caring”.
Her hurt is with her, never far away. She is at breaking point and the system we have in Aberystwyth to support her, is not adequate - and she finds herself approximately 60 miles away from us.
If ever she needed support from her friends, it should and must be in Aberystwyth.
I say to the local authority, this woman should be in Bronhaul Wing in Bodlondeb, Penparcau, not alone, with strangers.
So many residents came to Bodlondeb also lonely, afraid, not realising they should, could and would be given the support they need at the home. Surely the five empty wings at Bodlondeb must reopen.
Nobody should find themselves miles away from our family and friends.
