Madam,

It’s not surprising that our MP, Mark Williams, and AM, Elin Jones, are in favour of remaining within the EU. Both their parties are committed to the EU state. I can understand the Liberal Democrats wanting to jump into bed with the EU superstate, as they will jump into bed with any party to have some power. But it baffles me why Plaid Cymru want to ditch the UK and surrender all to the EU.

We are expected to fall for the pitiful deal that David Cameron has squeezed from other EU leaders. He has the audacity to call it a ‘renegotiated’ deal for the UK. How anyone is taken in by this is beyond me. He achieved absolutely nothing.

Why should anyone belong to the EU which is riddled with corruption and waste?

Pro EU campaigners say we get millions of pounds from the EU. We do not get any money from the EU. The EU has not got any money. All we get is some of our taxes back. Pro EU campaigners say we have had peace in Europe because of the EU. We have had peace in Europe because of NATO. The EU is heading for big problems due to its lack of an immigration policy and through the incompetence of Frau Merkel, who welcomed all migrants with open arms, not even checking to see if they were genuine refugees. Too many people are confusing the words ‘refugee’ and ‘immigrant’.

Anyone 59 and older (they were old enough to vote in the last referendum) can remember life in the UK. Was it dark, as Cameron says it will be if we leave the EU. We were members of the European Free Trade Agreement, which meant we traded freely with European countries. Neither our MP nor AM were old enough to vote but, I can assure them, there was nothing dark or frightening about living in the UK.

Ninety per cent of the world’s countries are not members of the EU. Out of the EU we will take our seat in the WTO and have our own trade agreements. Europe might try to punish us, but I truly believe we will be much better off.
