A nurse from North Wales’ only children’s hospice will battle the Caernarfon Half Marathon this September.

Naomi Tull, who has worked at Tŷ Gobaith for five years, says that she is in awe of the strength and resilience shown by the children and their families.

“I absolutely love my job caring for so many wonderful children and families,” said mum of one, Naomi.

“I’ve never worked anywhere that has made me feel so valued.”

Naomi has always enjoyed running but knows the race will be tough, and has lots of climbs and fast downhill sections.

She said: “Training for this has been tough and I don’t doubt I’ll have to push myself hard on the day.

“Whenever I have struggled, I just remind myself of the daily challenges that children and families living with a life-threatening condition face.

“I am forever in awe of their strength.

“Raising money and awareness for them will be a pleasure.”

The race takes place on Sunday, 6 September, and starts at the iconic castle, taking in views of the Menai Straights and the Eryri National Park.

Fundraiser Becky Moreland is right behind her colleague and said: “Naomi is an inspiration to us all at Tŷ Gobaith.

“She is very passionate about the care and training work she provides.

“We’ll be rooting for her all the way in the race and there to support her and our other runners on the day.
