A DOLGELLAU nurse will share her skills with a worldwide audience next month.
Award-winning nurse Anne Thomas from Dolgellau Hospital has been invited to speak at the International Public Health Nurses Conference in Denmark.
Anne, who was recently given the ‘Heart Hero Innovation Award’ by British Heart Foundation Cymru, will be representing Wales at the Global Network of Public Health Nursing (GNPHN) event in September.
The Meirionnydd nurse, who works at Dolgellau’s Outpatient Department, will be sharing her 35 years’ worth of experience of working to eliminate health inequalities in rural areas and trying to find ways of improving general health and wellbeing.
The department is increasingly being recognised across Wales and the UK as providing innovative and effective interventions to improve health in a rural community.
Projects such as the Dolgellau Healthy Hearts Programme, which aims to provide accessible health education and support to people at increased risk of cardiovascular disease, will form part of Anne’s presentation.
