TWO oil spill kits have been installed in a location at Barmouth Harbour.

Barmouth harbour has recently been donated a set of kits by Cardigan Bay Fisheries Local Action Group (FLAG).

The 120 litre and 50 litre spill kits are stored at the harbour office on the quay in Barmouth and will be available for use in the event of an emergency spill.

Barmouth harbourmaster, Bergitte Evans, welcomed the donation of the kits from FLAG co-ordinators Alison Kinsey and Peter Appleton.

Accidental spills can happen in any working harbour so the spill kits will be invaluable in Barmouth.

FLAG is a private, voluntary and community/public sector partnership, and is funded through the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and Welsh Government.

The overall aim of the Cardigan Bay FLAG is to promote the sustainable development of fisheries communities and areas.
