Prominent Ceredigion residents have been awarded with commendations by the High Sheriff of Dyfed, Stephen Mansel Davies, for their immense contributions to their community.

Amongst those awarded were Mia Lloyd of Tremain, near Cardigan, for her courage and tenacity as a young person and her efforts as an ambassador for the Noah’s Ark Hospital.

The highly respected community champion from Lampeter, Rev Goronwy Evans was commended for his lifetime achievement of raising over £1.1 million towards Children in Need and for his exemplar community leadership within the rural community of Lampeter.

Angela Evans, Cardigan, was recognised as the founder of the Cardigan Cancer Care charity which has and continues to support families in their hour of need.

Peter Williams of Cilgerran was commended for a lifetime supporting various local charities especially Muscular Dystrophy and has been involved with his local Tyrhos chapel for over 50 years.

A total of £1,700 was also presented to young people from a host of youth organisations within the counties of Dyfed to support them in their quest to travel and learn as part of Dyfed Youth Trust Awards.
