TWO ABERYSTWYTH film students who hitchhiked across the USA, the Sahara Desert and the UK, have created a programme to challenge people to achieve their dreams.
Caroline Lumiere-Koziol, 21, and Juliet Valentine, 22, both from Poland, met at Aberystwyth University where the pair are in their final year of film and TV-related degrees, and have now created a programme called Dream Catcher TV, a project they say aims to “motivate and challenge people” to achieve their dreams.
Speaking to the Cambrian News, presenter of Dream Catcher TV, Caroline said: “Me and Juliet met at university where we were doing similar courses.
“I used to hitchhike a lot before I met her and I invited Juliet to join me on one trip to Birmingham from Aberystwyth once and this is how we started to travel together.”
The pair soon found themselves hitchhiking the length of the UK, across the famous Route 66 in the USA, and filming a documentary called Freedom of Lies — since approved for a film festival in Iran — while hitchhiking in Morocco.
“We realised how little people know about each other’s cultures and how little they know about themselves and their opportunities,” said Caroline.
“What we found is that it doesn’t matter if you have lots of money or no money at all; if you are afraid to fight for your dreams, you always find an excuse to not work on making them a reality.”
