Parts of the Cambrian Line railway have resumed service this morning as engineers survey the damage caused by Storm Ciara.
Trains have begun running from Shrewsbury to Machynlleth, but a rail replacement bus services remains in place between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth and Machynlleth and Pwllheli.
A spokesperson for Transport for Wales said: "The Cambrian Line between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth has now been reopened in both directions following a safety inspection of the line.
"A rail replacement bus service remains in place between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth, and on the Cambrian Coast Line between Machynlleth and Pwllheli.
"Customers are still strongly advised to check their journey arrangements before travelling at nationalrail.co.uk or journeycheck.com/tfwrail/ and allow plenty of time to their journey."
