A LAMPETER mother has said that her bullied daughter “would not be here now” without the help of a PCSO who “saved her”.
PCSO Ryan Jones, who has served in Lampeter since 2007, has been nominated for a Dyfed-Powys Police award after being put forward by the mother of a girl who was being bullied at school.
The mother, who is not named, said in her nomination for the #WeCare Awards that PCSO Jones went “above and beyond” to help during a very difficult time.
“My daughter was being bullied to the extreme, and Ryan went above and beyond to help,” the mother said.
“He came around to the house during his time off to talk to her and show what he had accomplished in his life, and told her how she could do the same.
“My daughter still has negative effects from the bullying, but Ryan really saved her.
“If he hadn’t taken an interest I really don’t think my daughter would be here now.”
PCSO Jones, who lives in Lampeter with his wife and three daughters, said: “I was amazed to find out I’d been nominated for an award, and particularly pleased as the nomination had come from a member of the public who I’d helped.”
