The country, I feel, is in despair, with local lockdowns. I feel this virus is with us and no amount of restrictions will really help. People are really fed up.
We might as well accept that this virus will rear its ugly head, no matter what. And stopping people living a normal life will not do much to stop the march of this virus.
With livelihoods at risk, the nation is trying to retain their hold on their businesses. We should remember that people rate being at work as the number one priority.
The government, I feel, are clutching at straws. They are trying to cope, but not succeeding. After all, this is something they have not dealt with before. Taking away people’s liberties just causes despair and other ailments.
So as normal a life as possible, with people making their own sensible decisions, is the key to riding this out to its bitter end.
• I am ecstatic to read that good old Barmouth Bridge is at long last going to be restored to its former glory. This will be money well spent. And Barmouth will feel the benefits. This will ensure that this bridge will go on for future generations to enjoy.
This bridge is known worldwide. And when people think of Barmouth, the picture they have in their minds, and remember of Barmouth, is this iconic bridge. This measure of restoration will please many, giving Barmouth a new look for the 21st century.
• May I say congratulations to the iconic Cambrian News celebrating 160 years of being there for the people of Wales, championing good causes and highlighting the topics of the day, not least giving our locals something to talk about.
The Cambrian News is part of the Welsh way of doing things, enriching our lives with conversations and debate.
Long may it go on.
