A call to expand a Penrhiwllan Ceredigion campsite which is already having to turn away potential visitors has been lodged with county planners.

Five Oaks Campsite has applied for permission for a change of use of land at Penllwybr, to site five touring caravans, five tents and a static caravan along with associated toilet and shower facilities.

Documents said the says the application will allow a greater degree of flexibility in terms of pricing and advertising for facilities, adding the applicants “have seen a huge demand to date and want to improve on site facilities to improve their offering”.

It says they “report that more people have sought to visit site but cannot due to not being members of their certification body,” adding: “the applicants believe they will be able to better meet the demand via the development outlined in this planning application.
