Descendants of T E Nicholas (Niclas y Glais) travelled to Crugiau Dwy, above Pentregalar, to unveil a memorial stone earlier this month.
The stone was placed on the exact spot where his ashes were scattered in 1971, not far from his family home.
Niclas y Glais lived for most of his life in Aberystwyth, where he was a poet, preacher, dentist and communist who became well-known throughout Wales.
And with the aid of a Lottery Heritage grant a book has been published entitled Nithio Neges Niclas containing letters and articles he wrote.
The stone was unveiled by the poet’s great-grandchildren, Shan Simkins and Jonathan James, and his great-great-great-grandchildren, Harri and Daniel Jones, before a gathering of invited guests.
There was also an exhibition in Hermon Community Centre which included Eisteddfod chairs, an Eisteddfod Crown and information boards on the life of T E Nicholas.
Following the unveiling ceremony, Cwmni Theatr Bro’r Preseli presented a drama, Mae’r Dydd yn Dod, based on Nicholas’ life penned by Gareth Ioan.
Mr Ioan also led a symposium on the activist’s life at Capel Antioch.
