Police have arrested a man in Pwllheli.

The reason for his arrest has not been revealed.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police moved to reassure the public that there was no risk to them.

The spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of an incident in the area of Yr Eifl, Pwllheli at about 17.50hrs this evening.

"As a result, a male has been arrested and remains in police custody.

"There is no ongoing or wider risk to the community and the police investigation remains ongoing."
