ACTRESS Ffion Dafis, who plays the character of party leader Rhiannon Roberts in the hit S4C political drama Byw Celwydd, was the special guest as Elin Jones launched her bid to be re-elected as Ceredigion’s Assembly Member.
Highlight of the evening was a discussion between Ffion and Miss Jones on how life in the National Assembly was portrayed in the drama.
The event, held at Aberystwyth’s Belle Vue Hotel, was attended by over 100 supporters.
Miss Jones was also joined by current AMs Alun Ffred Jones and Jocelyn Davies, as well as former MP and Assembly candidate for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr Adam Price, former AM and MP Cynog Dafis, and Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner candidate Dafydd Llywelyn.
Miss Jones said: “I’m extremely grateful to Ffion Dafis for taking part in my campaign launch, and also to Jocelyn Davies, Alun Ffred Jones and the scores of supporters who made it such an enjoyable evening. Jocelyn and Alun Ffred had many entertaining tales to tell about their combined 26 years as Assembly Members, and it was fascinating to see how fact compared to the fiction of S4C’s Byw Celwydd series.”
