COUNCILLORS have been rapped for failing to attend Cardigan’s Gwyl Fawr festival.
Cllr Graham Evans expressed disappointment at a town council meeting that more town councillors did not attend.
He said: “There are 13 councillors on the town council, the whole week I did not see more than half a dozen there.
“We are a big sponsor there. There must have been something people could attend. It was disappointing.”
Cllr Evans added he was grateful to councillors, such as the mayor Clive Davies and Gwynfi Jenkins who attended nearly every activity, even when the football was taking place, and congratulated Cllr Jenkins for his work at the festival over the years.
Cllr Davies said the annual Welsh language event had been a great success.
He said: “Gwyl Fawr was a very good week. It was an eye opener to me, as I have not been that much. The Sunday night concert was exceptional.”
