The Welsh Conservatives have launched their campaign to retain Montgomeryshire in the forthcoming National Assembly elections.
Russell George, the Welsh Conservative candidate in Montgomeryshire, hosted the launch event at the Elephant & Castle Hotel in Newtown.
Mr George was joined at the event, which marks the official start of the Welsh Conservative campaign in Montgomeryshire, by guest speaker, William Hague, who has endorsed Mr George’s campaign for re-election as Montgomeryshire’s Assembly Member.
Following the event, Mr George said: “I am delighted that William Hague joined me to officially launch my re-election campaign.
“My priorities, if re-elected on 5 May, will be to strengthen access to health care, support and empower our schools; continue my campaign to improve broadband and mobile coverage; and stand up for the interests of rural Wales including our vitally important farming industry.”
