HUNDREDS of people are expected to gather at Aberystwyth Bandstand tonight to protest US President Donald Trump’s apparent ban of Muslims entering the country.

A petition calling on the UK Government to withdraw an official state visit invitation, which was only extended to Mr Trump last week during Prime Minister Theresa May’s visit to the White House, surpassed one million signatures today.

The petition came after Mr Trump’s executive order, signed on Friday, halted the entire US refugee programme for 120 days, indefinitely banned Syrian refugees, and suspended all nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries.

A protest titled Aberystwyth Against Trump’s #MuslimBan will be held at Aberystwyth Bandstand from 6pm to 8pm tonight.
