Ceredigion MP Ben Lake is due to speak at a Kill the Bill protest this weekend.
The third Aberystwyth Kill the Bill protest will take place tomorrow, Saturday, 1 May.
Police say they are aware of the event.
Protest organisers Ceredigion Against The Policing Bill confirmed on 28 April that Mr Lake will be speaking.
Joining Mr Lake will be Camilla Mngaza, Siyanda Mgnaza’s mother from the Free Siyanda campaign, and lawyer and civil rights campaigner for ethnic minorities in Wales Hilary Brown.
This is the third protest of its kind in Aberystwyth. The second was on 17 April and the first on 3 April.
The third protest will follow the same format the previous two, with protestors gathering at the clock tower in Aberystwyth, before marching through the town and ending at the castle, where various speakers will address the crowd.
The protest is against the recently introduced Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. The draft law has drawn particular controversy as, if passed, it would “allow police to criminalise anyone using civil disobedience and direct action tactics”.
A spokesperson for the protest wrote on Facebook: “Our theme for this Saturday’s #KillTheBill march in Aberystwyth is Celebrating Protest.
“We are inviting people to attend the march and rally dressed as historical protestors and/or carrying placards or banners from those protests - for example the Rebecca Rioters, the Suffragettes, the Merthyr Rising, Anti Corn Law League, Chartism.
“We would also like to see contemporary progressive protests represented - possibly Cardiff Peace March, Greenham Women, Welsh Language Protests, Save Tryweryn campaign, Save Aberystwyth Post Office campaign, Striking Miners (no blackface please!), Save Bodlondeb campaign.
“If you participated in any of these please bring your banners and placards!
“Alternatively, come in your brightest and most colourful carnival clothes - let’s show our government that we will kill this bill before they kill our joyfulness and #RightToProtest!”
Chief Insp Christina Fraser said: “We are aware of a planned Ceredigion Against the Policing Bill protest march in Aberystwyth this Saturday. Constructive prior engagement is taking place between the organisers and the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“Previous peaceful protests passed without any local tensions or disorder and we anticipate the same again for this weekend.”
