THE shock decision to hold a snap general election was made by the Prime Minister whilst she was walking in Dwyfor and Meirionnydd.
Theresa May and her husband Phillip were holidaying in Snowdonia before the Easter weekend when she came to the decision to hold an election this summer, just weeks after promising that one would not be held until 2020.
She admitted to thinking about the decision “long and hard” whilst walking in the Welsh hills but believed that the planned election would provide “stability and certainty for the future”.
“The British people gave the government a job to do in terms of coming out of the European Union and I’m going to be asking the British people to put their trust in me in ensuring we deliver a success of that” she added.
