AROUND 150 people turned out to a rally in Pwllheli calling for Wales to become an independent country within the European Union.
Campaign group ‘Cymru Rydd yn Ewrop/A Free Wales in Europe’ organised the rally on Saturday in the Llyn town, with a number of guest speakers.
The rally, organised by a new group, Plaid Ifanc Llyn, comes after the referendum decision, which saw 52.5 per cent of voters in Wales vote to leave the EU.
One of the speakers was Dwyfor Meirionnydd MP Liz Saville Roberts.
She said: “Around 150 people turned up to the rally and there were many people speaking about their hopes and aspirations for Wales now the decision has been made by the UK to leave the EU."
