Bike lights for school pupils

SCHOOLCHILDREN will be seen cycling around thanks to the gift of lights from a bike store. Llanllyfni Community Council and North Wales Police have worked together to provide bike lights for school pupils who took part in the Gwynedd Council Cycling Proficiency scheme in the Penygroes area. The lights have been supplied by KK Cycles of Porthmadog. The council agreed to part-fund the lights in honour of three councillors who passed away, and PCSOs David Harding and Julie Holland obtained the rest of the money from the High Sheriff’s crime beat fund. PCSO Harding said: “The wives of the late councillors attended at the primary schools to hand out the lights to lucky pupils of, Ysgol Bro Lleu, Ysgol Talysarn. “During the presentations we gave the children an insight into bike security as well as taking the opportunity to mark the bikes with security pens.” Other schools who receive the training are also set to receive the lights.
