A NINE-YEAR-OLD Llanrhystud schoolgirl has raised hundreds of pounds for the Little Princess Trust by having her long hair cut and holding a cupcake sale.
Teleri Evans, a Year 4 pupil at Ysgol Myfenydd, cut off eight inches of her hair last Thursday after selling her cupcakes at the school.
Teleri said: “I decided to cut my hair and donate it to Little Princess Trust so they can make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer. This charity is very important.”
Proud mum Angharad Evans, who called her daughter’s efforts “amazing”, said: “She set herself a target of £200, but she’s already raised over £250, so we decided to put it up to £400 and hope to go over that. She is doing an amazing thing.
“She’s only nine and wants people to know about this amazing charity."
A registered charity, the Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young adults up to the age of 24, who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
