A FUNDRAISING day in memory of a popular Aberystwyth football manager and former player has raised £1,000.

Katie Davies arranged the special fundraiser on Saturday, 7 July, in memory of her brother Terry Davies, a former Aberystwyth Town FC player and reserve team assistant manager and manager of Bont FC, who died in January.

As part of the event, a special football match was held between Penparcau Legends and Bont FC with Bont winning in a penalty shootout and being presented with a special T M D Memorial trophy.

The money raised will be going to Mind with Katie also organising a quiz and raffle to help raise money.

Katie said: “I was overwhelmed by the support of the community.

“Everybody coming together, from the boys who knew and played alongside Terry over the years to the locals who grew up with him and the people who watched him grow up, all came to show support. The boys gave an amazing effort considering the weather and pitch conditions, they played outstandingly.”
