Members of Newcastle Emlyn Sheepdog Trials presented cheques to their charities at their annual dinner following a successful sheepdog trials at Cilfallen, Cwmcou in August.
Donations of £500 each were made to Diabetes UK Cymru and the DPJ Foundation.
Eirian Jones, from Diabetes UK Cymru, thanked the committee for the donation and spoke to the members about the charity.
He said that Diabetes UK Cymru aims to support people with both type 1 and 2 diabetes and their families, as well as campaigning, preventing, and funding research into the disease.
Unfortunately, a representative of the DPJ Foundation was unable to be present but the charity sent its appreciation for the support, as all the money will go directly to supporting those in the agricultural community of Wales with poor mental health.
Raffle prizes were won by the following: 1: J Bunner; 2, S Jones; 3, W Williams; 4, E Davies.
Committee members would like to thank everyone who ensured that the trial was once again a success, including Margaret Evans, Cilfallen, Cwmcou, where the trials were held again this year.
Also to sheepdog handlers, the judge Emyr Lloyd, timekeeper Gerry Hazelby, committee members and supporters.
They also thanked those who made donations to the society including the president for 2019 Towyn Evans; Newcastle Emlyn town mayor Cllr Alan Jones and mayoress Jo Jones, and trial sponsors Windgen Blaenbowi Ltd, Nock Dayton, Michael Millward, and Clunderwen and Cardiganshire Farmers Ltd.
