A Lampeter couple who have helped raise over £1m for BBC’s Children in Need campaign over 35 years have decided to call it a day.

Since 1983, Beti and Goronwy Evans have facilitated the collection £1,100,000 from Ceredigion and parts of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

The couple and their team of volunteers will be at St Thomas’ Church, Lampeter, for Children in Need’s big event on Friday night but it will be their final year.

From next year a new system for collecting money will be adopted by Children in Need organisers.
