BORTH Family Centre is looking forward to a bright future after it was confirmed that it will receive grant funding of almost £250,000 over the next three years.
Helen Williams said the £243,000 from the Big Lottery People and Places Fund meant the centre could start planning for the future and introduce an expansion of its services which had been planned by staff and volunteers.
The new funding will be used to provide a range of support services and develop programmes of youth activities and support for parents with teenagers, as well as introduce a healthy eating agenda across a range of the centre’s services.
With the centre celebrating its 10th anniversary later this year, Helen said the confirmation of the funding boost was great news for the centre and for Borth.
She said: “Following a period of uncertainty, our trustees, staff and our families are delighted with this news.
“We can now continue, and are looking forward to expanding the services we offer, combating isolation and promoting a strong sense of community and support. We will celebrate our 10th birthday later this year.
“The Lottery have rewarded much hard work from many people with a marvellous present.
“Our thanks to all those who supported our application and of course to the Lottery.”
