It seems as if £46m is going to be spent on a new Dyfi Bridge, largely to prevent a piece of parapet wall being hit from time to time. Wouldn’t any other busy historic market town with a narrow trunk road through the middle welcome a proper bypass?
I attended the consultation exhibition and heard the arguments but to spend that much money while still routing heavy traffic through Machynlleth just feels like an expensive and short-term partial solution to the flooding and traffic problems.
