THE Ceredigion Community Safety Partnership is inviting residents to attend a public meeting today (Friday) to discuss crime concerns.

The meeting will provide the public with a progress review of community safety in Ceredigion, covering topics such as local crime reduction targets, progress in relation to recommendations outlined in the 2015/16 Strategic Assessment, and recommendations of the new Strategic Assessment 2016/17.

Bronwen Morgan (pictured), chief executive of Ceredigion County Council and Chair of the Ceredigion Community Safety Partnership, said: “These meetings are an excellent opportunity for residents to gain a full appreciation of the true picture of crime and disorder within the county.

“The Public Service Board and Ceredigion Community Safety Partnership are proud of their achievements to date in terms of reducing crime and disorder, but are not complacent, and continue to carefully monitor progress, trends and developments to not only maintain but, wherever possible, to improve community safety within the county.”

Topics discussed at the meeting will also assist the group to put forward local priorities in connection with the Police and Crime Plan.

The Partnership and Strategy Group is made up of the following organisations: Ceredigion County Council, Dyfed-Powys Police, Hywel Dda University Health Board, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, National Probation Service, Community Rehabilitation Company Wales, Dyfed-Powys Area Planning Board for Substance Misuse.
