The old skate park in Pwllheli could be turned into a new outdoor gym and obstacle course, if plans get the go-ahead.

Pwllheli Town Council shared an update on plans for the park online.

The post reads: “Following a highly successful public consultation, which included feedback from local residents, schools and visitors, there was overwhelming support for the project. The responses received clearly demonstrated a strong desire to see the site redeveloped into a modern, inclusive facility that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

While progress has been positive, we have recently learned that the Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF), which was being considered as a source of funding, is unfortunately not open this year.

“Despite this setback, the town council remains fully committed to delivering the project and is actively exploring alternative grant funding opportunities to help make it a reality. We will continue to pursue all available options and keep the community informed as the project develops.

“Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation and helped shape the vision for this exciting community asset. Your support and enthusiasm have demonstrated just how important this project is for Pwllheli's future.

“We look forward to sharing further updates as soon as they become available.”
