A PARTY at the bandstand in Aberystwyth to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday was hailed a huge success.

The event, organised by Cllr Mair Benjamin, was attended by hundreds of people who were treated to a feast of entertainment, including singing and dancing.

Mark Williams MP, who opened the event, said: “It was a pleasure to open the celebrations for the Queen’s 90th birthday along with Deputy Lieutenant of Dyfed, Rachel Rowlands.

"It was a great day, bringing people in Aberystwyth together in celebration while also helping to raise money for good causes such as the mental health charity Mind and the Aberystwyth Food Bank.

“I would like to congratulate Cllr Benjamin on all her hard work in organising the event, local businesses who helped fund it, and everyone who was involved.”
