WALKERS in Ceredigion are being urged to be vigilant to fly-tipping across the county as National Walking Month begins.
May is National Walking Month and Fly-tipping Action Wales is hoping for support from walkers and ramblers to report any cases of fly-tipping they may come across while out and about.
Ramblers Cymru and Ceredigion Ramblers are both backing the call from Fly-tipping Action Wales with Rebecca Brough, the policy and advocacy manager for Ramblers Cymru, saying that reducing fly-tipping and littering was important across Ceredigion and Wales.
She said: “We want Ceredigion to be a place where people choose to go walking, contributing to their health and wellbeing and supporting a more sustainable way of life.
“Keeping our countryside, coastlines and national parks free of litter and fly-tipped waste is an important factor in encouraging as many people as possible to enjoy the benefits that walking brings.
“That’s why we’re encouraging our three groups of Ceredigion Ramblers – Lampeter and Teifi Valley, Aberystwyth and Cardigan and District – to be vigilant when out and about this summer and report fly-tipping incidences to their local authority.”
