An annual charity classic and rally car run near Aberystwyth will be extra special this year as it starts outside a pub that has risen from the ashes.
The car run has been an annual fixture since 2017, raising thousands for charity, in the village of Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn.
This year, after 18 months of a massive rebuilding project at Y Ffarmers which was devastated by fire, the car run will start outside the rebuilt pub once again on 27 July.
Caitlin Morse, landlady at Y Ffarmers and co-organiser of the car run, said she is looking forward to hosting the event once again, with this year’s proceeds going to Blood Bikes Wales.
“It will be lovely to start the run again outside Y Ffarmers after the work it has taken to rebuild it,” Caitlin told the Cambrian News.
“We have had so much support from everyone, and the pub is really busy.
“We are hoping that this year’s car run will be a real success.”
Caitlin said that she, along with fellow organiser Mary Williams, are hoping that as well as classic cars, more people with classic bikes may also join the run.
“Pretty much any vehicle is welcome,” she said. “There are no strict rules on type or age of car.
“It’s all good fun.
“If you have a vehicle you love and is old or interesting, or special in any way, then bring it along.”
