RESIDENTS have been thanked for their understanding as waste disposal sites in Ceredigion re-open.

The Household Waste Site (HWS) at Glanyrafon, near Aberystwyth re-opened on Thursday 4 June.

Due to the new arrangements put in place and the support of local residents this has gone well so far, according to Ceredigion Council officials, with no significant issues reported.

As part of Caru Ceredigion the council says it would like to sincerely thank residents for working with them and playing their part.

The household waste sites at Lampeter and Cilmaenllwyd, near Cardigan, are scheduled to re-open at 9am on Thursday 11 June with the site at Rhydeinon, near Llanarth, set to reopen at 9am on Wednesday 17 June.

Access to all the sites is limited for essential use to cars with even-numbered plates on all the even days of the month and cars with odd-numbered plates on all the odd days of the month.

If the waste items can be stored safely at home or if it they can be collected as part of the usual domestic waste collections residents should not attempt to visit the sites.

The trip to the tip is going to be a very different experience moving forward due to the restrictions and considerations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
