Residents of a Penrhyncoch housing estate are calling for action to be taken for desperately needed improvements to the access road and pavements.

People living at Y Ddôl Fach met with Ceredigion MP Ben Lake and AM Elin Jones along with local councillor Dai Mason as they look to end problems that have been ongoing for almost 15 years.

They said there have been a string of problems, with one youngster recently suffering a serious knee injury after tripping over an uneven surface.

Rhian Roberts, one of the residents who has grown increasingly frustrated with the issues, said: “The condition of the road has been a cause of discontent among the inhabitants for nearly 15 years, seemingly with no end in sight.

“We gathered to hear what legal options were available to us in order to force the developer to improve the dangerous condition of the road and pavements, and to hear what action was already being undertaken by the council.

“The abysmal condition of the kerbs and turning areas has caused further tensions between neighbours as cars are parked in shared areas to avoid damage.

“Y Ddôl Fach now await a resolution to what has been a long and tiring fight for a safe place to live and play.”

A Ceredigion CCounty Council spokesperson said the road had not been adopted by the council, but the authority was looking at what could be done.
