RESIDENTS in Aberporth have rallied together to get their village plastic-free.

The initiative is being led by local resident Gail Tudor who has been inspired by the #plasticfreecoastlines campaign waged by Surfers Against Sewage.

Aberporth Village Hall Committee - of which Gail is a member - has backed the scheme to get Aberporth plastic-free, as have the local guides and brownies plus village businesses such as the Ship Inn.

Towns and villages which act to carry out the five-point plan can become Plastic Free Coastlines-certified areas – similar to the fair trade towns movement worldwide.

If anyone would like to get involved in activities, or get more information on becoming a certified ‘plastic-free business’ and what benefits it brings to businesses, please message Gail  via the Plastic Free Aberporth Facebook page.
