FWAG Cymru has appointed a new farm conservation adviser, working from its Dolgellau office.
Rhodri Vaughan of Llangernyw has been appointed to the role covering north Wales for the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group.
He joins Glenda Thomas, operations director, and Bethan Roberts at the Dolgellau office, the headquarters for FWAG Cymru.
Bethan, of Dolgellau, has also recently joined the FWAG Cymru team as office manager.
Rhodri recently graduated with an honours degree in geography from Aberystwyth University and is from a farming background.
He has a keen interest in farming as well as all countryside matters and has previously worked for FWAG Cymru during his free time whilst at university.
Dylan Wynne, north Wales FWAG chairman, said “We’re delighted to welcome Rhodri to the team which is now once again up to a full complement. His background knowledge of the way FWAG Cymru works, agriculture and the Glastir schemes are already proving beneficial.”
The main focus of Rhodri’s work will initially be guiding FWAG Cymru’s members with the implementation of their Glastir schemes and in particular assisting with keeping their Glastir diaries up to date.
Rhodri and the team are also gearing up in preparation to assist farmers with the extensions to Glastir contracts which many of FWAG Cymru’s members are expecting shortly.
Rhodri can be contacted on 01341 421456 or at [email protected]
