Following on from your article on Thursday, 30 January, (Aberystwyth edition) regarding the missed rubbish collections in Llanrhystud I think it’s worth noting that although the rubbish collections have been almost nonexistent in some streets in Llanon too since Christmas.

The problem isn’t a new one. We frequently have missed collections or a huge pile of collected bags in the village which are not then collected on the same day because the council “have been gritting”. I have no idea how many gritters/ refuse collectors there are and completely understand the need to grit. However, we pay council tax for gritting AND refuse collections. Not one or the other. It’s like this every winter. Why?
