The rugby boys of Aberaeron have once again shed their kit for charity.
Aberaeron RFC players have overcome their natural bashfulness to pose for a naked calendar in aid of testicular cancer and men’s health.
Saturday’s Div 3 West A home game against Tregaron was followed by a fundraiser in the clubhouse where the calendar was officially launched.
Club stalwart Tudur Jenkins is one of the few remaining players who posed naked in 2012 for a calendar in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance.
“The boys were quite sheepish and a bit nervous when the idea was first put to them,” he told the Cambrian News.
“Not many were around in 2012, so I think the notion took a bit of getting used to.
“But one of our players has suffered testicular cancer and I think that brought it a bit closer to home.
“All the boys went along with it in the end – they were consenting adults!”
“We’re looking to raise £2,500 from the calendar alone and like to think the overall amount will be between £3,000 to £4,000,” added Tudur.
