I feel the need to voice my opinion again regarding the cyclists.

I must stress I am not saying all cyclists are the same but again whilst driving out of Tywyn two cyclist were cycling on the main road next to each other.

Given we have spent thousands of pounds providing cyclists a cycle lane next to the main road I strongly believe that we have very few laws that ensure cyclists are made more responsible for their actions and using the roads.

Given other road users are required to have a license, insurance, tax and MOT – if required, and a legal requirement to observe the laws of the road regarding traffic lights, traffic signs, speed what measures are in place for cyclists?

You can get yourself a push bike and off you go.

I believe there should be a minimum requirement for some form of license and a ruling that cyclists must too wear high visibility clothing.

And it’s time to make the police more aware and willing to stop and fine cyclists for not complying with the rules or for displaying bad practices.
