DETERMINED fund-raisers have raised a whopping £1,800 after completing the Cardiff Half Marathon.

On the first of the month, Lynda Jones, Medwen Williams and Sarah Jones all completed the gruelling race to raise much needed funds for Caban Bach, the Barnardo’s Family Centre in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

After many months of training pounding the streets in the Ffestiniog area, the trio found the event “truly amazing” and one they will “never forget”.

Citing the crowds as a source of inspiration – both the spectators lining the street and the 25,000 fellow runners – Lynda, Medwen and Sarah were “so proud to be running to raise funds for such an important cause which enables children to have the best start in life.”

Money is still pouring in for the three runners who have quadrupled their initital target of £450.
