THE Scarlets will be launching their new away kit on Aberystwyth promenade this afternoon ahead of the start of the Pro14 season later this month.

Scarlets players Jonathan Davies, Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, Ken Owens, Steff Evans and Rhys Patchell will all be in attendance for the unveiling of the new kit at 2.30pm at the bandstand.

The kit launch will be part of a family fun day on the prom from 11am until 4.30pm.

As one of the Scarlets’ community partners, Aberystwyth University will be present at the bandstand for the day’s activities with touch rugby taster sessions on the beach, the ‘Watt Bike’ challenge and a free photobooth.

Aberystwyth University’s partnership with the Scarlets also includes a healthy eating initiative aimed at schoolchildren, which was launched in 2016.

The university also sponsors Scarlets player Wyn Jones, who studied agriculture and animal science at the Institute of Biological, Envrionmental and Rural Sciences.
