AN Aberdyfi centenarian celebrated another milestone birthday last weekend.

Searson Thompson from Aberdyfi marked his 106th birthday on Saturday, 16 December, with friends and family.

Mr Thompson‘s granddaughter, Alice, said: "My grandfather has had a wonderful day with lots of cards and visits from friends and family and he would like to thank everyone for all their good wishes.”

“He received a card from the Queen this morning - one more to add to the two he has already received from the Queen!”

“My grandfather is very lucky to be still living in his own home – he loves Aberdyfi and has a wonderful view of the Dyfi estuary from his window. He had a lovely surprise today when a group of people walking along outside stopped underneath his window to sing Happy Birthday!”

“Thank you again to everyone for all their birthday wishes on my grandfather’s very special day.”
