STORM Christoph has affected train travel in Dwyfor Meirionnydd for a third day.

Passengers using either the Cambrian Line or the Conwy Valley Line face cancellations today as Transport for Wales and Network Rail work to get railway lines, affected by flooding and landslides, working once more.

A spokesperson for Transport for Wales said: “Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog will remain closed all day.

"The line between Machynlleth to Pwllheli will remain closed until further notice.”National Rail enquiries said: "If you are travelling on routes listed below, please check your journey as services are currently being disrupted. Transport for Wales expect disruption on all routes below until the end of the day."Commenting on the Conwy Valley Line, they said: "Heavy rain has flooded the railway between North Llanrwst and Blaenau Ffestiniog which means some lines are blocked."Of the Cambrian Line, they added: "Heavy rain had flooded the railway between Machynlleth and Dovey Junction which means some trains may be cancelled or amended."Heavy rain has flooded the railway between Fairbourne and Llwyngwril, and there is a landslip between Harlech and Barmouth, closing the line between Pwllheli and Machynlleth. Road transport is also unavailable."

Elsewhere, Dyfi Bridge reopened at around 7.30am.

It has been closed since the early hours of Wednesday when heavy rain made it impossible to cross.
