A REUNION of the Llanidloes Derval Twinning trip will take place this week.

All are welcome to join at the Rugby Club, Smithfield Street at 7.30pm on Thursday, 20 September, for a chance to share photos, memories and remember the enjoyable days in France or to find out more about twinning, if you haven’t been involved before.

This August’s Town Twinning trip to Derval in France was the best yet, according to organisers.

A record 42 people from Llanidloes and the surrounding area took part.

Most travelled on the coach from Llanidloes and all enjoyed day trips to Anjou, including a vineyard, the medieval town of Guerande and the seaside.

The group also had a chance to have a look round the town of Derval and enjoy time with the French families they stayed with. Some of them have now become old friends.

The group gave a gift of a print by local artist Pam Higgs of the river bridge in Llanidloes to the mayor of Derval.

Please go along to the reunion, even if you weren’t able to go on the trip, or to find out more if you would like to join the group.
