PEOPLE in Cardigan have been left shocked and saddened after learning of the tragic death of a popular mum-of-four in Australia.
Venessa Evans-Fudoholz, who was 45, died in a road accident north of Perth on Friday, 6 February. She leaves her husband and four children.
Ms Evans-Fudoholz (pictured) and her youngest daughter visited her mother, retired driving instructor Gill Evans, at her home in Spring Gardens, Cardigan, during a rare visit to her home town back in October.
Ms Evans-Fudoholz, an ex-pupil of the town’s junior and secondary schools, was a former clerk at the local Jewson builders depot and also worked as a carer at a nursing home in Carmarthenshire.
She was a talented sportswoman who played second row for the former Cardigan Ladies Rugby Club as well as a highly-rated rally navigator.
A friend, who did not wish to be named, said Ms Evans-Fudoholz visited Australia on a back-packing holiday 25 years ago and settled Down Under.
“She went out there travelling and just fell in love with the place,” she said.
