Like the hundreds of local people who have been opposing the Police and Crime Bill in a series of marches and rallies, I was shocked to see it pass the Third Reading in London, unchanged.

As a peaceful environmental protester, I could look forward to 10 years in prison.

Travellers could be persecuted and police faced with having to curtail the freedom of the public who pay their salaries.
