CEREDIGION residents are being encouraged to shop around for better energy deals this winter after the county’s Citizens’ Advice service said people could save up to £200 by switching.

As part of Big Energy Saving Week between 26 and 30 October, CAB Ceredigion teamed up with Elin Jones AM and Mark Williams MP to deliver a message they think many people would be surprised to hear after it was revealed in a poll that 45 per cent of people didn’t think they could save any money by switching provider.

This couldn’t be further from the truth according to the charity, which has called on people to save money themselves and help others save money by showing relatives, friendsand neighbours how to find a better deal.

William Jones, energy champion at CAB Ceredigion said: “As winter beckons, we all need to think about saving every penny and by doing a price comparison, people could save up to £200.

“This time of year we always see an increase of people coming for help to local Citizens’ Advice because they are struggling with day to day living costs.

“This year’s campaign also urges people to help elderly friends and relatives who need to winter proof their energy bills.

“We can also help with advice and practical support and also give information on the best and worst performing suppliers.”
