THE next Cellar Bards event in Cardigan will be an open mic extravaganza, featuring the spoken word from a range of talented local performers, writers of poetry, short fiction and novels.
The event will be held on Good Friday (25 March) in the Castle Café Cellar Bar. Doors and the bar open at 7.30pm, the event starts at 8pm.
As well as their own work on a range of subjects, including International Women’s Day and the Spring Equinox, each open mic performer is invited to read a short piece by a female writer they have been influenced by.
Cellar Bards organiser and host, writer Carly Holmes said: “This will be a spoken word extravaganza - an exclusively open mic event when all writers who wish to can take to the stage to read work of their own, or, in the month of International Women’s Day, work by women who have influenced their own writing. All are welcome, both regulars and newcomers, to read, or listen.”
Open mic spots are available for writers of poetry, short stories, micro-fiction and novels (maximum of five minutes each). Just put your name down at the door if you want to read. Or go along to listen to a great variety of spoken word performances.
