THE Ceredigion Association of National Trust Members (CANTM) celebrate the group’s silver jubilee this year, it having been formed in 1991.
For those unfamiliar with CANTM’s work, the organisation’s main aims and objectives are simple - firstly, to support the charitable aims of the National Trust here in Ceredigion and secondly, to help the National trust members in Ceredigion to maximise the enjoyment from their membership.
“However, it should be added that membership of the National Trust - although desirable - is not pre-requisite, with some members of CANTM enjoying the full benefits of the support group without being members,” publicity officer Rod Harris explained.
“Membership of CANTM is not about volunteering. Although some of our members are involved in volunteering for the National Trust, the vast majority are not.”
So, what does CANTM do? Rod explains.
“We have a very full and active programme which includes talks, especially in the winter months, at various locations in Ceredigion. In spring and summer we concentrate on trips and outings that often take us far beyond the borders of Ceredigion. We visit properties and gardens across Wales and the Borders that are part of the National Trust but have something of interest."
