THE tale of a devastating car crash which nearly cost a teenager his life has had a surprisingly happy ending.
On 4 March, Steffan Jones, 18, sustained serious head injuries after a horror collision between his car and a lorry on the A494, about four miles outside of Dolgellau.
Fortunately for Steffan, the Wales Air Ambulance was at the scene within minutes to provide life-saving medical care and fly him to Ysbyty Gwynedd.
In honour of their actions, Steffan’s girlfriend, Jess Owen, and his father, Barry Jones, completed a 10,000 feet skydive to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance and managed to collect almost £2,500 for the worthy cause.
Jess told the Cambrian News: “Barry and I raised £2,293.80 altogether. The jump was amazing and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again!
“We both enjoyed the experience and it was definitely worth it for how much we raised, I was never expecting to raise so much.”
Jess and Steff are both students in Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor and were able to raise a significant amount of money from their peers.
